THE OPERATION

Cosmetic rhinoplasty is performed in the operating theatre and may be performed under general anaesthetic or neuroleptic analgesia. No pain is felt during the operation.

The incisions are made inside the nasal cavity.

The bump, if present, is removed and the nasal bones are fractured at the base in order to be brought together so as to reconstruct the bridge of the nose. The septum and lateral cartilage are isolated and reduced as much as necessary in order to remodel the tip. It is medicated with tampons in both nostrils and a plaster cast on the bridge in order to immobilise the bones.
